Biologist (Marine and Coastal)
Davis Environmental Solutions currently is hiring for a full or part time Biologist position with 1 to 5 years of experience based out of the North Miami office.
This biologist position will assist with field work and report preparation. You will have the opportunity to expand your experience with natural resource evaluations and environmental permitting, while learning from our experienced team of senior scientists.
You will work with a small team on coastal projects requiring multidisciplinary expertise on corals, mangroves, seagrasses, marine habitats, restoration, and coastal construction. We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills to work in a team environment or individually on complex projects for private and public projects. The team is expecting a self-starter to help resolve challenges and provide solutions for clients. Field work is performed in Florida’s hot, humid environment for extend periods of time, in natural and disturbed environments. Technical writing skills are necessary to succeed in this position.

Qualifications
This is an entry-level to mid-level position. At a minimum, the applicants must have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in marine and/or biological/environmental sciences with 1 to 5 years of experience in Florida, preferred.
Preferred Experience:

- mangrove monitoring,
- collection of environmental data (wetland and upland plant identification, wildlife monitoring, water quality sampling, etc.),
- Preparing reports and permit documents for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
This is an entry-level to mid-level position. At a minimum, the applicants must have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in marine and/or biological/environmental sciences with 1 to 5 years of experience in Florida, preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Coral, mangrove, and seagrass identification
- Scientific Diving – AAUS or other certifications
- Knowledge of Florida ecosystems, including flora and fauna
- Wetland delineations
- Technical writing skills
- Field work
- ArcGIS and collection of GPS data
